Amazon.com Product Description Proving that outdoor speakers can sound just as good as indoor models, the Adatto DV52si indoor/outdoor speakers boast the same components as BIC America's top-rated DV52si bookshelf speakers. This means the versatile satellites have enough bass output to fall below the built-in subwoofer crossover point for Dolby Digital receivers, ensuring that users won't miss a note whether listening to their favorite tunes on the patio or enjoying surround sound movie soundtracks in the living room. The resulting audio is warm, precise, and full-bodied, with an accuracy and tone that dwarfs speakers many times their size. The speakers mount easily on either a wall or ceiling corner, giving listeners a host of installation options. Locate them near an outdoor hot tub, under a roof eve in the garden, or above the back deck, where the weather-resistant housing will hold up to both sun and wind exposure. The speakers aren't completely waterproof, however, so BIC America recommends installing them under a covering. To further protect the speakers, the company included an anodized screen grille, which keeps water splashes and drizzle from damaging the components. When locating them indoors, merely pop off the anodized grille and add the cloth indoor grille instead. Audio-wise, each speaker boasts a 5.25-inch polypropylene cone woofer and 0.5-inch poly dome tweeter, which combine to deliver a frequency response of 70 Hz to 20 kHz. Additional specs include an 8-ohm impedance, a sensitivity of 90 dB, and a crossover frequency of 5 kHz. The speakers perform particularly well when combined with other BIC America home theater speakers, which are tonally matched to complement the Adattos and are video shielded to prevent image interference. Each speaker handles 10 to 125 watts and measures 6.25 by 9 by 6 inches (W x H x D). The pair is also backed by a seven-year warranty when used indoors and a two-year outdoor warranty. What's in the Box Two DV52si indoor/outdoor speakers, user's manual.
Product Description These Indoor / Outdoor speakers feature the same components as the Top-Rated DV52si bookshelf. These are the smallest satellites that can deliver full-range output to below the built-in sub- woofer crossover point for Dolby Digital receivers. Both the cloth indoor and anodized screen outdoor grilles are packed with each pair. Designed for optional wall or corner mounting. Ideal for use with ALL surround & music Formats.

Great sound, great price! November 24, 2008 Bought these speakers for outside based on several reviews from Amazon and ecoustic. I have them connected to a Onkyo Tx-sr705(also bought from Amazon) and set to zone2. I bought a pair of inexpensive swivel mounts from Frys,no need to buy the overpriced ones. They sound great for their size and can handle the power easily. Don't let their price fool you, you are getting great speakers at half the price of other "name brand" speakers.
Great inexpensive speakers June 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the second time I've purchased these speakers for my outdoor deck. The first set lasted about 13 years. They probably would have lasted even longer if I'd brought them inside every winter. The sound is great for this price range. originally I compared them to a set of outdoor speakers from a high-end stereo shop...these sounded much better to me. They don't come with any kind of bracket to attach them to a wall, but they have two holes on the back of each speaker, and they provide a template, so it's fairly easy to figure out. The second set I purchased were exactly the same size as the first...so they fit on the same screws I had installed thirteen years ago. One downside might be that they don't swivel, but if you install them facing the direction you want them to be in it shouldn't be a problem. I have had many years of enjoyment from these speakers...and compliments too.
Awesome sound at an incredible price ! January 1, 2008 We auditioned 5 different speakers before we decided on the BIC. These included Boston Acoustics and Klipsch outdoor speakers. Although these were the least expensive BY FAR, they tied for best sound quality. We are planning to buy 3 more sets this summer !
Awesome November 9, 2007 I use four of these in a 7.1 surround sound for the surrounds, they sound really good, and it's very easy to mount them on the wall, I used to have them mounted so they were tilted down at the listening room, but I tried mounting them straight out into the room and I get a much more spacious surround effect that way, I also use the BIC DV52CLR for left, right, and center and the whole system sound very very good, my only weak spot is probably the Infinity sub I'm using, its not bad just want a little more bottom end, it's only an 8 inch woofer, but the BIC are terrific value in my opinion, not the best but at this price you cant beat them.
Tough little guys! December 6, 2006 I had a pair of Adatto speakers mounted outdoors, under the eaves facing my back desk and hot tub, for over six years in a climate the freezes, bakes, rains, you name it. They played often, loud and well. I just sold the house, leaving the speakers mounted, and so just bought another pair for the new house. They do not have deep bass, but from the lower midrange to the top end I can't imagine there's anything better for the price.
