I had my eye on this subwoofer for quite some time as it turns out a co-worker of mine had an extra sub and sold his. I didn't want to spend big bucks on a sub because I feel it is the most overrated piece of the home theater. I powered up 'Saving Pvt Ryan' and was impressed! the bass is clean and fast, very pleased!! and its not this huge cube that takes tons of space :)

This is a great Sub.I bought it to match my ysp-900 yamaha sound bar.They match each other perfect.But this sub does not rock or shake the room.I wanted more power and sound so i bought another sub of the same make and model.I used a y-splitter since there was only one sub out on the ysp-900 soundbar.The extra sub has produced more depth in my movies.I have both sub levels past noon at (1).Im very happy with this sub.

The Subwoofer is great, did have a vibration tick when cranked up. I tightened a couple of screws on back plate and it was gone. That was the only bad news. Obviously not that bad, This subwoofer along with the 800 soundbar from Yamaha make an excellent pair without all the wires needed for other sound systems. The good news is my experience with etronics because I thought I would have to return unit, within one day I had UPS return labels and the Amazon/etronics experience was all I could ask for. etronics explained when UPS picked up woofer and was in their computer system the new woofer would be shipped immediately.

This is a brilliant subwoofer. Turned it on, turned it up, put on the Matrix Lobby scene and it made my couch & coffee table vibrate.
That says it all really...

I dont received my yamaha yst800 but i test this sub with my HT and sound great vs other yamaha sub
