Their flexible, weather-resistant design stands up to a variety of climate conditions--such as light sprinkles, heavy winds, or hot sun--though Acoustic Research recommends installing them in protected (covered) locations, as they aren't totally waterproof. To make installation easier, the company supplied built-in swivel brackets that serve as either a base (for sitting on a bookshelf or table) or as a wall or ceiling mount for precise directional placement. Audio-wise, each molded-polymer, ported enclosure houses a 5.25-inch polypropylene woofer that handles the mid and low frequencies and a 1-inch tweeter to crisply reproduce the high notes.
