Amazon.com Product Description Take your favorite music outdoors without losing precious fidelity with the JBL Northridge N26AWII weather-resistant bookshelf speakers. Designed for patios, porches, and other areas with a roof eve or awning, the speakers are ideal for lazy summer parties, wedding receptions, and other outdoor gatherings, as their JLB-exclusive Kapton voice coils and Heatscape motor structures provide rich, crisp audio without withering under intense heat or whipping wind. And should listeners not possess a suitable outdoor environment--the speakers aren't waterproof, so uncovered areas aren't ideal--they can move inside and use them as bookshelf stereo speakers or rear speakers in a surround system. The speakers can also be mounted on an indoor or outdoor wall using the separately sold WBN26WHT wall brackets. Each speaker includes a 0.75-inch titanium-laminate cone tweeter that reproduces high notes and dialogue at the peak of precision. The tweeter also boasts an oval orientation called Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS), which results in a wider horizontal dispersion of sound. The idea is simple: turn every seat, no matter where it's located, into the best seat in the house or yard. Meanwhile, the mids and lows radiate from the professionally engineered 6-inch WeatherPlas cone woofers. Additional audio enhancements include FreeFlow flared ports that minimize distortion and thump and a Straight-Line Signal Path (SSP) crossover network that divides the audio signal with minimal processing for a better overall sound. The N26AWII's technical specifications include a maximum recommended amplifier power of 125 watts, a frequency response of 55 Hz to 20 kHz, and a crossover frequency of 3,000 Hz. Audiophiles will also appreciate the sturdy five-way binding posts, which both provide a variety of secure hookup options and preserve the nuances of the source music. The speakers hail from JBL's Northridge E Series, which comprises not only floorstanding and bookshelf speakers, but also center channel speakers, subwoofers, and anything else you need to create a superior surround system. The speakers measure 10.75 by 14.5 by 7.75 inches (W x H x D) and are covered by a five-year warranty on parts and labor. What's in the Box Two N26AWII speakers, self-adhesive rubber feet, warranty card, user's manual.

Weather Resistant Speakers November 6, 2008 Nice speakers. Great sound. No, the speakers are not going to rock your socks off. However, they do their job very well. Wonderful speakers for a deck or patio. They are quality made. One thing to consider is that these speakers are larger than you might think. They will need a sturdy mounting bracket to stay secure. Great product.
Great for average listening September 5, 2008 Good for background music, maybe for a small gethering, but if you want to rock the party. NO.
They work well outdoors and have not given any problems in the 5 years I have had them.
JBL Weather-Resistant Speakers May 27, 2008 Excellent speakers in every way, but at roughly 8" X 12", they do not fit my own perception of bookshelf size, and I don't recall seeing their dimensions listed.
Make sure you realize how big these are May 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sound quality is quite reasonable and they seem to hold up okay to moderate weather exposure. It's hard to appreciate how large they are until you see them, though. They are not what I would consider a "wall-mountable" size. They aren't heavy, they just look enormous when they're up on a wall.
Good speaker but. . . July 6, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought these off of tech reviews. Looked for a good 3 way outdoor speaker for the back deck. They do a fine job at producing a very true sound but they are twice the size I was looking for. After looking around on line, I decided to keep and hang them anyway. At their price point, there is not at lot of equal competition. wish they could have done it with a smaller case. Dimensions were clearly listed, i just missed them.
