Product Description The Acoustic Research Brand (AR) has been synonymous with quality sound for over 50 Years. Founded in 1952 by audio pioneer, writer, inventor researcher and audio-electronics teacher Edgar Villchur and his student Henry Kloss, the company soon grew into a major force in the sound industry. NOT WORTH THE MONEY (even when you want to like it) September 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I really wanted this to work. I read the first reviewer and decided to ignore his criticisms. After all - how bad could it be? Well, Reviewer #1 is 100% correct. I gave it a fair try, the result: I guarantee you'll want to send this back. So, save yourself return shipping fees and buy a different product. Pros: I was excited before I hooked it up. Cons: Annoying hum, low quality sound, remote is cheap with low range, also I am out $16+ for return ship. My real rating is a negative 0.5. (and I'm not that picky)
Disappointed May 31, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This was a complete waste. It's nothing but a fancy amplifier and not a good one either. The max the volume goes to is 50 and the the so-called woofer sucks. I had better results with my sony stereo and an old computer sub-woofer hooked to the tv. So much for the clock but I like to power off and unplug everything at night. The only thing it's got going for it is the blue led display. I should've checked up on this. It's made by AudioVox which sells their shi...stuff in CVS. Over all it should sell for $99 or below not what I shelled out. Save your money.
For it's package size I was not impressed to have it left at my door not requiring signature. I'll think twice about ordering 'large' items from Amazon.
