Product Description Swans Speaker Systems has won many accolades since their inception, including multiple CES "High-End Audio" awards and a 2003 "Excellence in Design & Engineering" T.H.E. Show award for the "wall of sound" Swans 2.2 HT. This passion for uncompromising audio performance is evident in everything bearing their badge. The Swans S3W Multimedia System shrinks the size required for a rich, full-sounding speaker system down to a manageable desktop size. Two 3" full range drivers have been placed into modern shaped vented enclosures that please both the eyes and ears. Power is developed by an equally diminutive brushed aluminum Class T amplifier that is said to rival tube amplifiers for their sound quality and listenability. Two 3.5 mm inputs are built into the amplifier for a permanent computer connection and a personal music player connection. Laptop users, iPod and MP3 wearers, and portable DVD player watchers now have no excuse for listening to bad speakers. Swans, hear different! Not suceptible to GSM interference December 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm no authority on audio quality, but these sound good to me. All that I really cared about was eliminating the obnoxious GSM interference (a.k.a. GSM buzz) from a nearby iPhone. I tried a couple of different models of basic desktop speaker sets and and a set of M-Audio Studiophile AV30's, with terrible results. These sound quite a bit better and pick up no detectable RFI at all. I'm not sure whether to attribute this to the metal housing of the digital amplifier or the T-amp itself.
The only negative I can see is the odd design decision to tether the two speaker cables in a Y configuration to a 4-conductor TRS connector. I really would have liked to put the speakers farther apart, and had they used two separate connectors I could have easily rigged an extension cable.
