Amazon.com Product Description Five, 125-watt compact speakers and a high-performance powered subwoofer make up Polk Audio's RM6800 compact home theater speaker system. The sculpted anodized-aluminum satellites were designed for minimal intrusion into your space, and maximum sound quality. The satellite and center speakers feature Polk's patented Power Port bass venting technology. This venting, hidden under the removable grilles, extends and strengthens the speaker's lower-midrange performance for a seamless blend with the subwoofer output. The included 10-inch, 65-watt powered subwoofer with slot-load venting dramatically lessens turbulence, noise, and distortion, for precise, thunderous bass. Position your speakers perfectly with the RM6800 satellites' bolt-on swivel wall-mounting brackets with hidden wire channels. Also, the center channel speaker features a cradle that aims the speaker toward the listener, from above or below the TV. The center channel speaker features dual, 3.5-inch mineral-filled polymer Dynamic Balance midrange drivers that produce clear, distortion-free midrange even at high volume levels. Each satellite speaker uses one of these drivers as well. The .75-inch Dynamic Balance silk/polymer-composite dome tweeter broadcasts sweet highs and lifelike imaging. Dynamic Balance technology produces flat frequency response, sharp detail, transparency and an ability to play program material with wide dynamic range at life-like volume levels without a hint of strain. The sound is always clean, clear and effortless. All of the satellites feature five-way binding posts. Plus, they're magnetically shielded for safe placement near your state-of-the-art TV or video monitor with no risk of video distortion. The subwoofer has stereo line level (filtered) and single LFE (unfiltered) inputs plus speaker level inputs. What's in the Box RM6800 5.1 home surround sound speakers (four satellites, one center, one subwoofer), manual, five-year parts and labor warranty

Acceptable speakers March 12, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was torn between the Infinity Ts series, the Onkyo's and the Polk RM models. After reading reviews after reviews of each maker, this one gets a lot of good reviews, the same with the Infinity's, so I decided for the Polk, hooked it up like they recommended. The center channel is very clear and crisp. The satellite speakers are actually better then my big floor standing speakers from sharp and the rear klh speakers. Everything is very clear, I hook these up to my Onkyo TX-SR674 love the auto set up test from Onkyo, it actually helps you how to set up your speakers. The only drawback is the subwoofer, it does not have the thunder bass I was looking for, maybe it's only a 10 inch woofer with very low watt power. I was not happy at first and couldn't figure out why it doesn't sound the way I want it, it sounded it fake, it didn't sound like a theater system, I switch the subwoofer and used my KLH 12 inch 200w subwoofer and bam! Sounds awesome now. Not sure if the one I bought has something wrong with it, but other reviews mention the subwoofer is pretty good. All in all it's a good speaker system

Very Pleased February 7, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am starting to put together a new home theater system since my Sony receiver and my Bose speakers were getting pretty old. I had pretty much settled on either the Polk Audio RM6800 or RM6900. I finally decided to go with the 6800 (I actually own the black speakers, not the titanium) and I am very pleased with that decision. I hooked them up to my sony receiver (still need to get a new receiver) and my home theatre was suddenly revamped! These speakers sound so good that I am in no real hurry now to get another receiver.
I noticed in my research that Polk Audio gets a lot of bad reviews on their subwoofers. From my persective I can't see why. For me the Subwoofer that came with the system is sufficient (especially considering the price) for what I need. I do have to make adjustments to the volume occasionaly depending on the movie that I am watching, but it doesnt bother me.
Surround Sound February 1, 2007 I purchased this Polk package because it was just a few dollars more than buying the 4 Polk individual satelite speakers that I needed. So I ended up with an extera 100 watt subwoofer [ 2 are better than 1 ]and a nice Center speaker to use some other place. I am using the 4 new satelite speakers as surround speakers with a CSI5 center and RTi-8's for left and right main speakers. Also have a PSW 505 subwoofer in there somewhere. The combination is working well for me.
