 Only one thing to say about this product - WOW January 9, 2009
This is my second Harmony remote. The first was the old 628 and that product was pretty good until the latest software release from Logitech turned it into a piece of cr*p. Planned obsolesence? Planned product destruction? I wasn't considering buying a replacement from Logitech until I found the 880 for only $79 at Amazon (reconditioned).
The 880 was in perfect condition and all of the original packing material - even the original screen protector stickies - were there. After connecting it and telling the software to upgrade from the old Harmony to the 880, the remote was configured exactly as needed automatically - something that I couldn't acheive with the old 628 even manually with the new software. That's why I beleive the new release of software was an intentional forced retirement of the older product.
In conclusion, the 880 was a great bargain at $79, but would not be at the list price of $295. Also, I would recommend never allowing an automatic upgrade of the Logitech software after you have a working version - if possible.

Logitech Harmony 880 Remote Control - Refurbished. $120 for new one. Get the refurbished and the save your money - it looks new to us. Very happy with this remote. Great on-line and over the phone service. Buttons are small, but you get use to them. Highly recommended.
Works like it says January 8, 2009
This remote is the most perfect piece of hardware I have ever used. First off, design was not an afterthought. This remote looks and feels beautiful. There is a very ergonomic design that feels great in your hand. The remote also fits nicely in its cradle to recharge also.
It took about 20 minutes to set up this remote with my devices and it was ready to go. Then it took about another 30 minutes playing with it to get it just right (most users won't do this but I like everything to be just perfect and I had about 5 extra activities that the software didn't anticipate and I didn't expect it to). Since I don't currently have an internet connection at home I took the remote to work with me to program it. My wife visited me at lunch and I sent it home w/ her to test it out. When she tried to play a CD it didn't turn the Mini-system to the right input. She hit the help button (I told her to do that before she called me to see if she could figure it out on her own) and it asked her questions and sent out the appropriate remote codes until the problem was fixed. This only has to happen once since the remote remembers how it left things last. I love this remote so much and my wife does too, because it has made our home theater experience much easier and less frustrating.

I'll keep this short and simple... like the Harmony 880. This remote has freed me from 4 different remotes and it took only minutes to set up (tip: be sure to have all your make and model numbers ready before you begin). For a refurbished item, it's working flawlessly. I DO see that the picture of the cradle has 3 contact areas - like the remote - but my cradle only has two. However, I've gotten a full charge and it's working like a champ. (I'll keep an eye on it and report back if there's a problem) DVR, DVD, XBox, TV, Onkyo receiver... I think you can throw just about any component in any configuration and it will work just like the factory remote. The ONLY thing I can't do it switch from 4x3 to 16:9 when going from SD to HD when watching cable. Small detail...
Everyone in my household took to it instantly and won't stop thanking me for spending the money to get this into our home.
You should ENJOY your time infront of the TV... not have to search, explain, struggle and curse. The Logitech 880 brings TRUE "harmony" to your home entertainment system.

The remote shipped on time and it was in excellent condition. It works well and I have no complaints. :)
